Arts Studio Summer Art camp offers children the opportunity to
experiment with a variety of media in a nurturing environment
which encourages each child’s individual self expression.
While our emphasis is on the creative process, children are encouraged
to realize their vision in the form of completed pieces culminating
in an art exhibit at the weeks end.
We
aim to to equip students with the technical tools they need to
express and articulate their own personal vision. Children will
develop their skills while learning to trust their inner creative
voice and intuition.
Campers
will create three art projects per week. The projects will be
inspired by art from all over the world. Children will learn
something about a regions art, history and culture through lecture
and discussion, and by looking at examples of its art, listening
to its music and art-making. Projects will include painting,
drawing, mixed media collage, sculpture, printmaking and paper
mache.
All
students must bring a bag lunch and a mid-morning snack. Students
can sign up for any combination of weeks. All materials are included
in the tuition.

Young
Designers Fashion Camp
Ages 8-11 • Two Weeks, July 11-22 10AM-4PM • $900
Fashion Camp is an exciting two week intensive program offering
students the opportunity to explore various arenas of the fashion
world. Students will be introduced to the elements needed to sketch,
design and sew their own clothing.
Students will begin with learning to sketch the
elongated fashion figure from the model and photographs. Then
they will use that
figure as a template to express their designs. Next, they will
create an ‘inspiration board’, consisting of magazine
clippings, fabric swatches and objects of interest, which will
become the basis for designing a 5 piece clothing collection.
Once created, they will spend a day exploring the garment district
in New York City and shop for fabric. The rest of their time will
be spent learning machine and hand-sewing basics, designing a simple
garment, creating a pattern for it, cutting it and sewing it together!
The 2 week session will conclude with a fashion show and presentation
to industry professionals. Students must bring their own sewing
machine.

their daily lives. We will explore the cultural exchange of forms,
and collaborate on several projects. Students will develop sketching
skills, draw plans, and build models. There will be field trips
