Neo Fauve
When I begin drawing, my intention is to slip into a trance state, in which I attempt to bypass my conscious mind. Then, a heightened receptivity allows me to perceive the emotional, energetic, rhythmic and gestural unity of what is in front of me. The marks I make are a visceral, instinctual direct response to what I see. It’s a very physical process.

I often use color randomly and rely on subconscious “accidents” to push my work into new territory, and keep it fresh and unpredictable.
