Afternoon Teen Art Studio Classes
Ages 13-17 • Monday-Thurs 3-6PM • $250
per week

Sculpture: July 11-15
Sculpt in clay, make a silicone mold and create patinaed cast-plaster multiples.
Life Drawing: July 18-22
Develop your ability to see and build skills such as measuring, proportion,
creation of volume and composition while drawing from the figure in a variety
of media.
Printmaking: July 25-29
Create a linoleum cut block print and learn xerox transfer techniques.
Mosaic: August 1-5
Learn mosaic techniques while designing and creating a mosaic using vitreous
and stained glass tiles.

Young Architects • Ages 12-17
June 27-July 8, 12-4PM • $485
Why do buildings stand up? Who designs them? What is "space" and
how do people define it? These are some of the questions we will examine
in this two-week architecture intensive.
Students will evaluate how architecture and spatial
design affects their daily lives. We will explore the
cultural exchange of forms, and collaborate on several
projects. Students will develop sketching skills, draw
plans, and build models.
Teen
Portfolio Intensive • Ages
11-17
August 15-19, 10AM - 5PM • $575
Observational drawing is the cornerstone
of this one week studio intensive. Students
will work from the model, still life and
landscape in a variety
of traditional and non traditional media including charcoal, pen and
ink, water
color, pastel on paper, cold wax and powdered charcoal and pigments
on mylar and collage. Students will also explore printmaking, both
linoleum
block printing
and xerox transfers. Skill building, self expression and the development
of one’s individual artistic voice will be encouraged in a relaxed
environment. It is highly recommended for students who are building
a college entrance portfolio.
All students must bring a bag lunch and a snack. Art
supplies and model fees are included in the tuition.

Young Designers Fashion Camp: Ages 8-11, Two Weeks, July 11-22
Fashion Camp is an exciting two week intensive program offering
students the opportunity to explore various arenas of the fashion
world. Students will be introduced to the elements needed to
sketch, design and sew their own clothing.
Students will
begin with learning to sketch the elongated fashion figure. Then
they will use that figure as a template to express
their designs. Next, they will create an ‘inspiration board’,
consisting of magazine clippings, fabric swatches and objects of
interest, which will become the basis for designing a 5 piece clothing
collection.
Once created, they will spend a day exploring the garment district
in New York City and shop for fabric. The rest of their time will
be spent learning machine and hand-sewing basics, designing a simple
garment, creating a pattern for it, cutting it and sewing it together!
The 2 week session will conclude with a fashion show and presentation
to industry professionals. Students must bring their own sewing
machine.
Students must bring a bag lunch and a snack.
Sewing
Intensive: Ages 12-17, July 25-August 5
In this two week intensive, students will learn all the skills
they need to create a two piece outfit. This intensive is appropriate
for all levels, from beginner to advanced sewers. Beginner students
will gain proficiency in machine, hand sewing and pattern-making.
Advanced students will expand their repertoire creating more
complex designs. All students will be encouraged to work both
two dimensionally with patterns as well as have the opportunity
to drape their creations on a dress form. The class includes
a field trip to the garment center and will conclude with a fashion
show and presentation to a panel of fashion industry professionals.
Students must bring their own sewing machine. Students must bring
a bag lunch and a snack.
One Week Fashion Design Intensive: Ages 12-17, August 8-12
This one week
intensive focuses on fashion design and illustration. Students
will learn to sketch the elongated fashion figure using
a live model and photographs. Then they will use that figure as
a template to express their designs. Next, they will create an ‘inspiration

and objects of interest, which will become the basis for designing

The
Teen Intensive will be held at 202 Park Street in the backyard
studio.
Studio
Policies:
• Registration fee of $15 will be charged for all new students.
• Students may join camp at any time during the summer. Fees will be pro-rated.
• All artwork must be picked up at the end of the camp session. Bass Arts
Studio is not responsible for artwork left in the studio after the camp session
is over.
• Bass Arts Camp is open to students at all levels of experience.
• Please wear appropriate clothing (clothing that can get dirty). Bass
Arts Studio is not responsible for soiled clothing.
• There is an 8 camper minimum per session. Bass Arts reserves the right
to cancel if less than 8 people sign up.
